Job Title : Cabling Support Manager
Locations : Columbia, MD
Assists in the Management of projects of varying sizes. Typically reports to a Cabling Group Manager
- Insures the quality of workmanship, safety and documentation per project. Performs at least one quality and Safety Coaching Observation on each project bi-weekly.
- Responsible for identifying and initiating work-around procedures, and working with Cabling Manager and Cabling Supervisors to assist in maintaining crew productivity during delays caused by other trades, customer, material delays, absenteeism, etc. in conjunction with the project schedule.
- Responsible for effectively managing a project of approximately 30 – 70 hourly and management personnel with little or no direction from the Cabling Supervisor.
- Responsible for the development of detailed status reports containing financial results, physical progress, productivity, change in scope and other issues as it pertains to the project(s) under the Cabling Supervisor's direction.
- Responsible for contract agreements and negotiations with potential subcontractors or minority vendors.
- Directs multiple Cabling Managers in realizing changes to the scope of work, and the documentation and approval of change orders. Reports, coordinates and supervises all aspects of a project.
- Exhibits a superior ability to work independently, performing site surveys for estimates, proposal preparation, or quality assurance. Provides documentation, reports, and information to Cabling Supervisor as requested.
Requirements :
Shall have 8 (eight) years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. A master's degree is equivalent to 6 years of experience, a bachelor's degree is equivalent to 4 years of experience and an associate's degree is equivalent to 2 years of experience. The degree must be in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Has a thorough working knowledge of reading RFP's, blueprints, specifications, contractual language and project scheduling (Microsoft Project) and system documentation.
