ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Physician Compensation Analyst is a key member of the Compensation team responsible for supporting the design, analysis, and administration of compensation programs, with a primary focus on clinical and provider compensation. This role ensures that Sound’s physician and APP pay structures, including base salary, incentive plans, and total rewards programs, remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectives. 

This role requires deep expertise in healthcare provider compensation, including RVU-based models, shift-based pay structures, and short- and long-term incentive plans. The Senior Physician Compensation Analyst will collaborate with Finance, Clinical Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Leadership to develop insights and recommendations for provider pay programs. 

 

The Details:  This is a full-time, remote position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducting market analyses and job evaluations for physicians, APPs, and clinical roles using data from industry benchmarks to determine competitive pay structures. 

• Administering provider compensation programs, including base salaries, productivity-based pay, stipends, and incentive plans. 

• Partnering with Finance, Talent Acquisition, and Clinical Operations to ensure alignment between compensation programs and business strategy. 

• Supporting the design and modeling of short- and long-term incentive plans, ensuring they drive performance and remain financially sustainable. 

• Ensuring compliance with healthcare compensation regulations. 

• Developing and maintaining compensation reports, dashboards, and audits to monitor trends and provide insights for leadership. 

• Providing guidance to Recruiting on offer approvals, salary structures, and compensation policies. 

• Supporting annual and off-cycle compensation processes, including salary adjustments, incentive payouts, and special compensation programs. 

• Ensuring data integrity within HR systems and compensation platforms.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Deep expertise in healthcare provider compensation, including RVU-based models, shift differentials, stipend structures, and incentive plans. 

• Familiarity with healthcare compensation regulations, including Stark Law, Anti-Kickback, and FMV assessments. 

• Strong understanding of market data sources and how to apply them to physician and APP compensation. 

• Proficiency in HRIS and compensation systems. 

• Advanced Excel skills, including modeling and data visualization. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources, or related field or the equivalent in education and experience. 

• 5 years of experience in compensation analysis, with at least 3 years specifically focused on provider or clinical compensation in a healthcare system or large healthcare organization. 

• Experience working with physician compensation models, incentive plan design, and regulatory compliance.

• CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or CHRC (Certified in Healthcare Compensation) certification preferred.  

 

SALARY RANGE

 $95,000 - $115,000 annually. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographic location.
