About the Role:

The Group Vice President (GVP) partners with the regional medical directors to provide leadership for their region that drives engagement, growth, operational and financial success. You are responsible for creating the strategy and clarity through the Sound Way of Managing (SWOM) to drive regional performance and accountability. In this role you think strategically about integrating all enterprise services to add value for your clients while supporting the growth of the region and company. In partnership with the Regional Medical Directors, the GVP is expected to model impeccable client service and build successful trust-based relationships with C-Level hospital executives.


The GVP owns or collaborates in the financial and operational performance of a multi-site region and its portfolio of programs including hospital medicine and emergency medicine.

The Details: This is a remote opportunity, based out of Kentucky or Ohio. This role will require frequent travel (25 or more trips/year).


In this role, you will be responsible for:


Capacity Creation
  • Building and developing a high-performance team of regional operating executives. Ensure appropriate training, role clarity, succession planning, and leadership development
  • Securing an appropriate infrastructure and resources to empower team and effectively operate the region according to SWOM

Culture
  • Promoting a relentless pursuit of operational excellence through clarity, planning, execution and accountability aligned with the SWOM
  • Leading team to continuously improve the financial and operational performance of healthcare delivery for our partners while improving the quality of patient care

Sound Way of Managing
  • Demonstrating an executive level presence internally and externally towards the region’s management
  • Delivering budgeted financial results and leading the regional team to develop accurate projections and forecasts
  • Negotiating favorable contracts for Sound Physicians utilizing optimal pricing models and operating strategy
  • Thinking in systems and working collaboratively with their physician dyad partner to develop strategic operational and clinical initiatives for the region
  • Aligning with clients strategic objectives and ensuring that Sound is engaged in the partner’s strategic planning process
  • Owning key c-suite system and hospital relationships and manages clients through impeccable service. Understands and persuades the client of the value that their hospitalist program is delivering and creates excitement and passion for those results
  • Facilitating cross pollination of ideas, process and strategies with other regional leadership within Sound and the Enterprise services
  • Partnering with RCMO to support organization’s clinical performance management objectives
  • Effectively managing relationships/processes with central services departments to maximize stakeholder, client, and colleague value

Expansion and Growth
  • Driving the growth, integration and development of Sound’s current and future enterprise services including but not limited to Hospital Medicine and Emergency Medicines
  • Owning regional organic and same site growth. Working with Business Development team in pursuit of new business.
  • Contributing in a meaningful way to national and organizational level initiatives

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare payment models, physician practice management, revenue cycle, payer contracting, managed care models, and Accountable Care Organization structure
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial and operational impacts within geographic and macro market changes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of MS Project

Experience:

  • 10 or more years working in healthcare operational management, experience in working with healthcare operational management, including financial statements and working knowledge of hospital and healthcare informatics, including quality measures
  • 5 years’ experience in client-facing roles with hospitals/health systems
  • 5 years' experience managing a physician group practice
  • Experience in Emergency Medicine is preferred
  • Experience building and managing a team of regional operating executives will be important.
  • Experience working in a cross functional, matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated record of using a strategic and consultative approach to adding value, engaging and building solutions with partners

Pay Range: $180,000-$225,000 annually. In addition, Executives are eligible for a bonus opportunity. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience, geographical location, and size/complexity of the program(s) being supported.
