Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for setting the strategy and priorities for the content licensing group
- Ability to stay ahead of industry trends with a deep understanding of the rapidly evolving landscape of music and audio services
- Work in partnership with cross-functional teams across the organization to lead our deal negotiations with potential partners
- Drive the most effective financial, legal, and feature frameworks to suit SoundCloud’s unique ecosystem and service packages (both existing and yet-to-be-developed)
- Work closely with all aspects of the established music and audio value chain
- Shape and lead SoundCloud’s direct deals with independent artists and audio creators
- Act as a thought leader in the marketplace for how talent can use SoundCloud as a direct conduit to fans and how labels, managers, and publishers can leverage SoundCloud to connect with emerging talent
- 10 years negotiating and managing a high volume of strategic content partnerships in the music and tech industries with a proven record of securing favorable outcomes
- Experienced deal maker and negotiation strategist
- Strong background in relationship management - fostering long-term relationships in the music industry with the ability to quickly establish credibility with new partners
- Deep understanding of the global music rights landscape
- Ability to frequently travel to US, Europe and other markets
