Job Description
Summary/Objective:
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately processing all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that all products are tracked and properly handled. This role involves preparing and packaging goods for shipment, generating shipping labels, and verifying the accuracy of shipments and receipts. The Associate will check packing lists against shipments to ensure the correct quantities and items are received and shipped. Efficiency and organization in the shipping and receiving process are key to supporting overall operations.
Essential Functions:
- Accurately package materials for shipment to customers.
- Notify order handling clerks of packages that are ready for shipment.
- Identify and categorize incoming goods, ensuring proper storage in designated areas.
- Report any incorrect shipments or damaged goods to the supervisor.
- Maintain an organized and safe warehouse environment, ensuring walkways remain clear of materials.
- Adhere to plant safety protocols and perform additional tasks as directed by plant management.
Qualifications:
- Manual dexterity is required for this position.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions may occasionally be necessary.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills for reporting and coordinating tasks.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Data entry and packaging experience is a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Education & Experience:
- A basic high school education or equivalent is required, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
