Source One is a consulting services company and we’re currently looking for the following individual to work as a consultant with our direct client, a medical device and ophthalmic product manufacturer in Irvine, CA. This role will require you to be onsite.
Title : Inspection Technician

Duration 18 months, with likely extension
w2 Pay Rate : $23.00 - $25.00 hourly
Mon. - Fri / 40 hrs)
Overview
The Inspection Technician Associate works in the areas of inspection or quality test of products within the surgical instrumentation and quality organization. The Receiving Inspection Technician Associate will perform quality inspections to standard AQLs. Tasks will typically be interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications and geometric dimensioning and tolerance in order to qualify parts into stock locations.
Responsibilities
Perform Partial or full FAIR inspection of Machine, casting, Sheet Metal and plastic components using precision measurement tools such as CMM, Optical Gaging system, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges.
Be able to interpret engineering drawings with knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Independently determine the appropriate methods of inspection for new and complex parts.
Be able to operate or programming CMMs using Pcdmis or Caypso.
Create and maintain detailed inspection reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Document Non-Conformance Reports.
Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Office tools for data analysis, reporting, and trend monitoring.
Proactively communicate inspection findings and collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues.
Operate CMM equipment (e.g., loading parts, running existing programs, interpreting results) as needed. Training will be provided.
Must have :
High School Diploma or equivalent
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
3 years of relevant experience
Nice to have :
Experience in manufacturing inspection, repair, test, or quality with demonstrated hands-on electromechanical testing preferred within a medical device industry.
Experience using CMM, Optical Comparator, Height gages, V-Blocks, Thread Gages, Micrometers and Calipers.
Experience performing First Article Inspections
