We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and highly collaborative Senior Marketing & Publicity Associate to join our growing children’s impact marketing team. In this role, you’ll be a key player in launching Stonefruit Studio, our bold and compassionate new children’s book imprint focused on sparking joy and imagination for readers of all ages. You’ll also help lead campaigns across our broader kids' list, including picture books, middle grade, graphic novels, YA, and nonfiction.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll own dynamic marketing and publicity campaigns from start to finish. From author care and media pitching to social content strategy and tour planning — you’ll be at the forefront of building buzz and brand love around some of the most exciting books in children’s publishing.
This role can be hybrid from our Naperville, IL or New York City office, or fully remote from: AZ, CT, IL, LA, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, and WI.
Salary range: $55,000 – $65,000/year - Starting pay is based on factors like location, experience, and relevant skills — ensuring a fair and competitive offer.

What You’ll Do
- Craft and execute creative, high-visibility marketing and publicity campaigns that drive buzz and book sales
- Manage author and agent relationships with warmth, responsiveness, and a collaborative spirit
- Lead and grow the social media presence for Stonefruit Studio, including content creation, calendar management, and community engagement
- Build author platforms with tailored growth strategies that connect directly with readers
- Collaborate with the performance marketing team to integrate organic and paid strategies
- Pitch to national and regional media outlets, and build strong, ongoing relationships with press and influencers
- Plan and coordinate author events — from school visits to book tours and virtual appearances — occasionally traveling to support major moments
- 3 years of experience in consumer-facing marketing, publicity, or brand development (ideally in book publishing or a lifestyle/entertainment-related industry)
- A true love of books, storytelling, and kidlit across age categories
- Experience managing social platforms and creating engaging content — from trend-savvy TikToks to polished Instagram Reels
- Strong copywriting skills across formats: media pitches, marketing copy, press releases, and digital assets
- Excellent verbal communication — you're comfortable pitching, presenting, and championing your titles
- Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, and other design/video tools (bonus points for Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or After Effects, but not required)
- A self-starter mindset and the ability to stay organized, agile, and creative in a fast-moving environment
