What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Maintenance Director position at SourcePro Search?
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Director to lead our production equipment maintenance team. In this role, you will direct and coordinate activities related to production equipment maintenance and new installations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preventive maintenance systems, be well-versed in Lean initiatives such as Six Sigma, and possess knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). They will oversee the safe maintenance, repair or replacement, installation, and startup of production equipment and systems.
- Responsibilities include operating, inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining equipment according to technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and spare parts manuals.
- Perform major repair work, such as removal and replacement of components.
- Participate in objective setting, plan development, and performance review of production equipment and systems.
The successful candidate will also identify vendors and solicit quotes for equipment repair or fabrication services that cannot be done in-house. They will establish routine inspections of equipment, delegate and manage workflows and tasks, and initiate, implement, and manage the production equipment preventive maintenance program.
This role requires strong business acumen, clearly denoting expectations, and directions. The successful candidate will work with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, QA, and Sanitation personnel to develop SSOPs for new production equipment and older equipment without an SSOP.
