We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of People Ops to lead and shape our People strategy. The Director of People Ops will report directly to the CEO and be an integral member of Sourgum’s leadership team. This highly hands-on role requires strategic vision coupled with the ability to lead and execute impactful people programs. The Director of People Ops will be instrumental in growing Sourgum’s team and responsible for developing and optimizing processes, driving cultural initiatives, and enhancing the overall Sourgum experience for employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, benefits and wellness administration, succession planning, training, and development.
  • Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and incentive programs.
  • Recruiting: Design and implement overall recruiting strategy, source and recruit candidates, screen candidates resumes and job applications, conduct interviews and onboarding.
  • Lead HR policy development, ensuring compliance and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to the CEO, executive team, and senior leaders on all people-related matters, including workforce planning, organizational design, leadership development, and employee engagement.
  • Leverage data and technology, to drive strategic people decisions
  • Implement innovative solutions to address workforce challenges and enhance performance.
  • Drive change management initiatives, focusing on process improvements
  • Act as a point of contact for employee relations, mediating conflicts and supporting resolution processes.
  • Build infrastructure and systems to standardize and streamline approaches to workforce and talent management, enabling scalability and sustained success.
  • Develop and implement leadership training and career development programs to grow internal talent pipelines.
  • Identify and implement HR systems and tools to enhance employee experiences, improve decision-making, and streamline processes such as talent management and performance tracking.
  • Champion Sourgum’s core values and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement that aligns with our mission.

  • Progressive HR leader with 10 years of industry experience with 5 years in a Senior HR and a proven track record in leading culture initiatives, compensation and benefits programs, employee relations, recruitment and talent development, at venture-backed high-growth tech companies
  • Experience in start-ups, specifically series A onward.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategies with overall business objectives
  • Adaptability, resilience, and comfort with ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
