Position description
Souter Limestone and Minerals, LLC, is looking for an innovative and experienced financial controller, to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Key areas within IT and human resources will also be managed by the Controller, including policy and procedure compliance and ongoing management of HR practices. Souter produces limestone aggregate materials for the construction industry through our quarry and several manufacturing facilities through our Find Grind operation located in Gore, OK. Responsibilities & Duties
· Provide timely and accurate income statement, balance sheet and cash flow analysis
· Prepare timely and accurate monthly/annual operating budgets and forecasts
· Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
· Effectively oversee all company accounting and administrative functions and activities, including AR, AP, Payroll, HR,
Environmental Health and Safety, and IT.
· Lead, Manage, and hold accountable the financial and administrative staff – hire, coach, counsel, evaluate and manage performance
· Develop financial reporting packages
· Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements in regard to company financials.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
· Provide ongoing analysis of the company’s financial performance, communicate financial metrics to management team, and make recommendations for improvement
Qualifications
Proven experience as a financial controller to include but not limited to:
· 5 - 10 years of accounting and administrative experience
· 2 – 5 years supervisory experience preferred
· Degree in Accounting
· Experience working in the aggregates or construction materials industry preferred
· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
· Experience creating financial statements
· Cash flow management
· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
· Excellent accounting software and administration skills
· Proficient with all Microsoft Office software
· Knowledge and experience running Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) a plus
