Job Description
South Baldwin Christian Academy (SBCA) is currently seeking candidates for an Elementary School Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is responsible for helping students achieve academic success and supporting the mission, vision and values of SBCA.
SBCA is unique in that it is multi-denominational and not associated with a single church. Instead, SBCA is a community-based Christian academy that serves our local community by collaborating with churches, community members, and parents to graduate students who are both academically and spiritually prepared to succeed and become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.

Position Duties
- Employ a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom
- Prepare motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum and student abilities
- Update curriculum and materials as needed
- Seek to actively know students' strengths and weaknesses and respond promptly with care to parent concerns
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and administrators
- Maintain an accurate and organized system for monitoring student grades and records
- Prepares well-though-out and thorough parent-teacher conference reports and written documentation on student progress
- Demonstrates strong classroom management skills
- Maintains substitute plans and engages substitutes in advance when needed and when possible
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn, grow and improve as a teacher
- Continues to update knowledge of content area(s) taught
- Engages in goal setting and review process with assigned administrator
- Attends and participates appropriately in full, divisional, and department/team faculty meetings
- Attends and supports school events as requested
- Supports leadership and colleagues
- Maintains a positive attitude and approach
- Represents the school in the larger community in a positive manner
- Assists with projects and school-wide initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned
