Responsibilities
The Development Director will assist fundraising efforts to support SBCT’s mission of delivering exceptional performing arts experiences. This role will focus on cultivating donor relationships, securing major gifts, managing annual giving campaigns, and developing strategic partnerships. The Development Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Board to achieve financial sustainability through grants, sponsorships, and individual contributions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan in coordination with the Executive Director, including short-term and long-term strategies.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors and sponsors to increase engagement and giving levels.
- Research potential grant opportunities to support specific programs and initiatives. Write and submit grant requests.
- Oversee donor communications, including newsletters, impact reports, and special announcements, and plan donor appreciation events.
- Manage the donor database, tracking fundraising metrics and donor interactions to inform strategy.
- Work collaboratively with the Board and Executive team to align fundraising goals with organizational objectives and create regular fundraising reports.
- Develop relationships with local businesses and community organizations for sponsorship opportunities.
- Organize fundraising events and campaigns, evaluating their effectiveness and exploring new fundraising avenues.
- Stay current with fundraising trends, best practices, and compliance with regulations concerning donations and grants.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to enhance visibility of fundraising efforts through effective communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising and development with a track record of increasing revenue.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to engage and inspire stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in major gift solicitation and stewardship.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including individual donors, foundations, businesses, and community leaders.
- Passion for the arts, community engagement, and the mission of SBCT.
- Proficiency in fundraising software and donor management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
