What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tennis Professional position at South Bend Racquet Club?
South Bend Racquet Club is family owned and operated. We are located in South Bend, IN and staffed by people who care about our product and each other. We take great pride in providing people with the attention and outstanding service they deserve.
We are currently hiring a full-time year round tennis teaching professional (full time is a minimum 30 hours weekly and min 4.5 USTA rated) to join our team. Pickleball teaching experience is also a plus, as we have demand for pickleball as well. We are looking for "The Right Fit" for our team who is business minded and willing to put the work in to generate hours. Our club is very social and has a large membership.
We have around 90 juniors in our junior tennis program with room for growth. We have adult programming with multiple courts daily with room for growth. 8 indoor hard courts. We have only 3 full-time year round pros including the Head Tennis Pro. Additionally, we have our junior academy director Doug Gossman who boasts 35 years of teaching experience. Our club has 5 part time pros as well.
Competitive compensation with no cap. Room for advancement. Weekday nights and weekends required. Non-Negotiable. Great working environment. Long time employees. PTR or USPTA certified recommended but not required. USTA Safe Play is required. Must be experienced in teaching technical skills, doubles strategy, hitting and playing with higher level clients, running large group lessons, and ball feeding when necessary. - Must have experience in ROGY juniors, private lessons, assist in point play teaching, adult clinics, and cardio tennis.
- Must have experience balancing teaching, live ball feeding, and hitting throughout the lesson.
- Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills, attention to details, and self directed. Able to use our court reservation software to book your own lessons.
- Candidate must have reliable transportation to and from work and preferably live within a reasonable distance from work.
