Job Summary
The Red Rocks Park Ranger plays a crucial role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of park trails, beaches, and surrounding areas. Responsibilities will include trail maintenance, beach cleanup, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors. The Red Rocks Park Ranger provides customer service to park visitors to maintain a pleasant experience for all.
Examples of Duties
- Welcome patrons to the park, answer questions and give directions as needed.
- Assess trails daily for safety and trash removal.
- Educate patrons of city and park rules/ordinances.
- Perform maintenance to the beach, trails, picnic area, and bath house as required.
- Check the park for safety hazards and report deficiencies to the supervisor daily.
- Report all accidents/incidents occurring within the park to supervisor.
- Administer proper First-Aid or CPR as required.
- Monitor the water for Blue-Green Algae
- Administer water sample tests.
- Follow all department/city employee rules and regulations.
- Participate in the evaluation process.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
Supplemental Information
- Prior First Aid/CPR certification preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of basic landscape/trail maintenance preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Enthusiasm, patience, proactivity.
- Ability to work independently.
