Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and related experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

- Supervises the organization, training, and daily work activities of assessment classification caseworkers.
- Plans and schedules job duties and monitors caseloads to ensure an equitable workload distribution.
- Ensures inmate assessments are completed and entered accurately into the automated system for all incoming R&E inmates.
- Conducts monthly training with caseworkers and serves on classification committees as needed.
- Ensures inmates are classified and assigned to an appropriate institution in accordance with SCDC policies and procedures.
- Respond to inmate requests for information and responds to inquiries from department officials and other agencies.
- Prepares and submits monthly reports and advises the R&E manager on all classification matters.
- Serves as the central point of contact regarding assessment classification issues.

- A Bachelors degree and one (1) year of inmate classification experience;
- An Associate degree and two (2) years of inmate classification experience;
- A High School diploma and four (4) years of inmate classification experience.
