About Our Agency
The South Carolina Department Of Disabilities And Special Needs (DDSN) Is The State Agency That Plans, Develops, Coordinates, And Funds Services For South Carolinians With The Severe, Lifelong Disabilities Of
Reports to duty as outlined in policy and procedures and assumes assigned individual accountability. Responsible for processing requests from both internal departments and external vendors in alignment with established policies and procedures.
As a Shopping Cart Creator, deals directly with vendors to purchase authorized non-stock items by Purchase Order. Creates SCEIS shopping cart requisitions according to submitted documentation to procure goods and services for DDSN Central Office divisions.
Upon delivery of items, essentially verifies that the products received match the orders placed. Must enter the delivery information and apply receiving to the appropriate departmental accounts within SCEIS. Additionally, ensures that all receiving documents are accurately entered into the system and submitted for processing, enabling Central Office Accounts Payable to key invoices promptly.
For each incoming invoice request, creates a Goods Receipt (MIGO) document in SCEIS, so maintaining a strong understanding of General Ledger (GL) codes is crucial. Regular communication with vendors and customers will help facilitate rapid and accurate transactions.
Tasked with maintaining and coordinating arrangements for surplus property within the DDSN Central Office, ensuring that all assets are accounted for and managed efficiently.
Responsible for following all Agency policies and procedures and may be required to perform and/or participates in outcome activities and any other related duties as assigned by supervisor, management or Procurement Director. Serves as backup to agency counterparts, Procurement Specialists, assist with keying carts, good receipts and issuing POs.

State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the work experience. Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Agency Additional Requirements: A high school diploma and two years of work experience that is directly related to Procurement process for State agencies (ex: purchases supplies and equipment for use by state agencies, negotiates contractual agreements under state and federal provisions).
