What are the responsibilities and job description for the Law Enforcement Embedded Clinician position at SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH?
Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
Utilize clinical skills in providing screening, crisis and therapeutic interventions, assessment, and resources to adults, children, and families. Coordinates for appropriate disposition of cases requiring a different level of care. Focus is on those who have been identified as high risk for psychological and functional impairment following a traumatic event . Will continue to provide follow up after traumatic experience.to determine if other or additional referrals are needed.
Provide case consultation with officers to generate assessments and referrals of patients identified in need of mental health resources/interventions. Serves as liaison with personnel of Beaufort Police Department to facilitate treatment and/or outside referral needs of identified patients seen with CPD.
Coordinate with key community stakeholders to provide multi-system, trauma informed interventions and participate in community outreach events.
Coordinates data collection, analysis, and reporting statewide the data collection of patients served.
Shall comply with the South Carolina Dept of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in performing their job duties.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Perform all other related job duties as required.
Minimum State: A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Minimum Agency: A master's degrees in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences with two years of experience. Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to speak another language is a plus.
