What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lending Quality Data Analyst position at South Carolina Federal Credit Union?
South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Lending Quality Data Analyst to join our team of outstanding Loss Prevention professionals in North Charleston, SC.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform detailed review of new loans to report any lending policy violations or procedure exceptions.
- Review loan files using judgment to analyze factual situations, and apply functional principles, to assess risk in underwriting, loan products and the loan portfolio. Involves application of a variety of sound underwriting principles not specifically located within policy and procedure. Involves review of lending decisions.
- Prepare monthly report for management to monitor the performance of all workout loans.
- Develop and modify reports using Originate/Crystal, CRMBI, and Encompass to meet requirements of various departments.
- Apply innovative approaches to integrating internal member data, existing research, and conducting analyses to report results and identify/implement possible solutions.
- Process monthly reviews on lines of credit to identify potential doubtful accounts and reduce risk exposure.
- Maintain monthly interaction with various departments regarding loan quality exceptions and interpretation of loan quality policy and procedures.
- Create and distribute loan data, individual lender, and overall loan portfolio reports. Thoroughness of loan quality, data reviews and accuracy of exception reports vital to ensure accurate dissemination of information to management and avoidance of time and cost to correct undetected errors.
- Credit Reporting – investigate and respond to consumer credit reporting disputes, update internal system credit reporting data, submit corrections to credit reporting agencies, and respond to consumers.
- Review HELOC reports monthly to ensure accurate payment calculations and interest adjustments prior to statement distribution.
- Coordinate loan policy changes to document and consolidate recommendations for Board approval and to finalize changes for publication.
- Assist with loan corrections and maintenance.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of similar or related lending experience within a financial institution.
- Possess working knowledge of loan underwriting, loan documentation and compliance.
- Possess knowledge and experience with Crystal Reporting. To include creating reports through Crystal using database fields, formula fields, select expert and section expert based on information needed.
- Possess knowledge of SQL programming language.
- Possess in-depth judgment and decision-making capabilities to solve major, complex problems.
- Possess proficiency in multiple software programs, including Branch Suite or DNA and Originate.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially regarding courtesy, discretion, accuracy and clarity in order to exercise judgement to obtain agreement where differences of opinion may exist and interpret internal policy and procedure and external laws and regulations.
- Possess excellent software skills to include Word, Excel, and Access software. Possess ability to produce work in an effective and efficient manner (i.e., quality and quantity) with an emphasis on quality.
- Possess strong analytical and multi-tasking skills, be highly organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- Must be capable of working flexible hours, occasionally, to include overtime.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
