Market Orthopedic Coordinator Position Summary:
The Orthopedic Coordinator serves as a patient and provider liaison, guiding and supporting patients through the surgical continuum of care and ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive education based on their needs and applicable related condition(s). This person manages the on-going analysis, development, and implementation of methods and systems to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the program’s clinical functions; coordinates patient-specific and community outreach; and is accountable for the surgical specialties program results through coordination of care.
Serve as resource for accrediting and regulatory preparedness. Participate in analysis of performance data and coordinate completion of reports for presentation to medical and hospital committees. Assist with development and implementation of strategies aimed at improving performance. Facilitate cooperative and collaborative relationships among departments and with physicians and external agencies to ensure effective patient outcomes. Responsible for coordination of the medical staff quality program plan and the medical staff peer review process. Assist the DCQI in the operations and management of the hospital’s Quality/Safety program for Hilton Head and Coastal Carolina Medical Centers.

Market Orthopedic Coordinator Position Requirements:
Education:
1. Current State of South Carolina unrestricted nursing or physical therapy license
2. Bachelor degree in health care related field
3. Master degree in health care related field preferred
Experience:
1. Minimum of three years clinical experience in an acute hospital care setting
2. Working knowledge of regulatory standards and requirements
3. Three years experience in performance improvement or orthopedic program development preferred
Other Qualifications:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of Performance Improvement principles and practices preferred
2. Demonstrated ability in problem solving and excellent organizational/time management skills
