What are the responsibilities and job description for the ED Quality Coordinator position at South Central Health System?
Job Summary
- Reports to Nursing Director of Emergency Department
- Reports Indirectly to VP of Emergency Department
- Facilitate accurate revenue capture through
- Ongoing charge review & correction
- Charge change requests by billing
- ED record review for policy compliance with specified populations including, but not limited to, moderate sedation, sepsis, and restrained patient populations. Other populations may be assigned as needed.
- Translates rough data into meaningful outcomes for staff & providers
- Develops need-specific education for staff
- Perform chart reviews as requested by other departments
- Maintain ongoing and accurate Department statistics for quality reporting
- Population specific metrics
- Patient flow metrics
- Collaborate effectively with Clinical Coordinator to identify staff education needs and develop & execute education as needed.
- Supports unit education and/or certification initiatives. Acts as a staff resource in areas of above listed functions.
- Other duties not listed as determined by Emergency Department Nursing Director
- Functions as a staff nurse as required, must maintain TNCC, ALS, & PALS certification.
