Job description
As an Employment Specialist you will:
- Provide case management and career counseling to adults and youth customers.
- Determine WIOA eligibility and accurately complete required documentation for enrollment.
- Provide comprehensive case management and follow-up to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract.
- Provide individualized basic skills assessment and identify employment goals based on career interest, ability, and personal development considerations.
- Build one-to-one working relationships with adults and youth to assist in mitigating challenges to obtaining and retaining employment.
- Provide consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up and retention services.
- Document all participant contacts and activities in case progress notes.
- Enter all employer information and employer contacts into appropriate systems and monitor employer activities.
- Meet performance criteria on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Career counseling experience.
- 1-3 years of sales or business experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts.
- Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Human Resources or a related area preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Valid Driver's License and an automobile are required.
