South College Asheville Learning Site, located in Asheville, NC, is conducting a search for the position of adjunct clinical instructor for the Nursing Department. This role involves teaching in clinical sites in Buncombe and surrounding counties in North Carolina and/or skills lab settings on campus in Asheville, NC. Clinical shifts will be 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on course needs. Preference will be given to candidates with pediatric clinical experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in lab or clinical experiences ensuring that course learning objectives are met
- Collaborate with course coordinator on lab or clinical learning activities
- Ensure that all academic program requirements and forms of documentation are completed as required for each student and submitted per established deadlines.
- Submit accurate attendance/academic participation rosters as prescribed by the institution.
- Adhere to South College Faculty Expectations for course participation, grading, and communication with students
- Maintain compliance with accreditation requirements, including continuing education
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active unencumbered RN license to practice in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of full-time RN clinical experience
- MSN preferred. A BSN with significant clinical experience in area of assignment may be considered.
- Prefer experience in secondary instruction.
- Must be willing to work at Clinical Sites throughout Western North Carolina, as needed.
