The USD Sanford School of Medicine (SSOM) seeks candidates for an Associate Dean of Medical Student Affairs. The office of Medical Student Affairs supports the students through all phases of their medical school career. Student services and resources include admissions, financial aid, academic support, career advising, well-being and the registrar’s office.
SSOM is a community-based medical school with a tradition of excellence and is highly ranked in family and rural medicine. (www.usd.edu/med)
The Associate Dean will be based in Sioux Falls but will regularly travel to the other campus locations. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree (MD, DO, or PhD) and preferably administrative experience in a medical school.
The Associate Dean reports to the Senior Academic Dean and is expected to work effectively with colleagues throughout the medical school and with the clinical affiliates of the SSOM. This position will supervise MSA office staff, provide direction for the office, supervise and mentor the director of career advising, and ensure student success for academics and professional development.
