DUTIES :
Reporting directly to the Provost, this position will provide important early leadership in an exciting statewide initiative to improve civic engagement in South Dakota. The Director will help launch and lead the Center, the purpose of which is to provide undergraduate students with the foundation to succeed as lifelong citizens and future leaders in political, economic, and civic life. To advance this initiative, Black Hills State University will collaborate with the South Dakota Board of Regents (BOR) and the other public universities under the jurisdiction of the Board to :
- Develop and provide curricula and programs;
- Sponsor and host civic-focused events;
- Provide experiential-learning opportunities;
- Provide civic programming;
- Provide other resources in support of the Center.
The Director will be instrumental in organizing, coordinating, and publicizing these activities.
