The South Dakota Department of Education seeks an individual to provide front-line customer service and clerical support as a Administrative Assistant in the Pierre office. This position performs a variety of support functions including greeting customers, answering and routing phone and email inquiries, establishing and maintaining computerized and/or manual files, processing invoices and bills, coordinating meeting logistics, making travel arrangements, and various other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Excellent communication, customer service, teamwork, organization, and computer skills. Must be able to handle stressful situations and switch quickly from one task to another. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently are also important in this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- operate a variety of office equipment and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, virtual meetings software;
- prepare invoices, billings and/or vouchers;
- compile and organize data;
- enter or retrieve data from computer systems;
- accomplish assigned professional tasks.
