South Dakota State University (SDSU) is offering an exciting career as a Systems Engineer. The University System Administration department is seeking a well-organized, self-motivated team player to join their team. This position will support the Office of Information Technology (OIT) mission of providing technology, skills and services to the University. This position is located on our main campus in . Job Responsibilities This position will provide primary technical support for our enterprise-class storage systems that support all of South Dakota State University. This includes planning, designing, installing, maintaining, testing, and implementing storage solutions. In addition, this role will serve as a team member in the Systems Administration department, assisting with 2nd and 3rd tier end user support, and ensuring the integration and functioning of SDSU’s IT systems. This position is also the subject matter expert in the department for storage related technologies and solutions. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Knowledge of :
- On-Premises storage systems, including both Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Attached Network (SAN) technologies
- Cloud storage systems, including NetApp, Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Cloud file storage solutions (OneDrive, Box)
- Backup solutions and capabilities
- Database and database management technologies, including MSSQL and Oracle
- Windows Server Roles and Features, including but not limited to Active Directory, DHCP, RADIUS, and Web Server (IIS)
- DNS and other networking functionality
- VMWare virtualization and server hardware (Cisco UCS, HPE and Dell)
- Linux OS administration.
