What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Accounts Specialist position at South Dayton Acute Care Consultants?
South Dayton Acute Care Consultants is looking for a Patient Accounts Specialist who will assist in the daily operations of the billing department by verifying patient demographic information and researching patients’ insurance benefits. In addition, this position will enter charges into our EMR.
Essential Functions:
- Access insurance websites to verify patient insurance coverage.
- Make calls to insurance companies, as necessary.
- Access hospital systems to gather patient demographic information.
- Make calls to patients, as necessary, to gather needed information.
- Process return mail
- Charge entry
- Other projects, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate required.
- One to two years of experience in a medical practice (preferred).
- Keyboard and computer skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records Systems (EMR).
- Knowledge of third-party payers.
- Exemplary customer service and communication skills.
- Organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
