Description
Under the general direction of the Principal, provide curriculum, supervision, administrative, and instructional leadership to facilitate the educational development of all students and promote a healthy and safe school environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the supervision and implementation of the school's educational programs.
Working in concert with the building principal, program coordinators and program heads, assist in the development, revision, and evaluation of the curriculum, and in the in-service training of teachers.
Assist in the recruitment, screening, evaluation, and coaching of the school's professional staff.
Assist in the supervision of professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and non- professional personnel assigned to the school.
Assist in the improvement of the quality of instruction and enhancement of student related activities.
Work with enrichment teams; organize and monitor enrichment activities.
Assist with the general supervision of the student body.
Handle routine disciplinary matters and communicate with parents as necessary.
Perform other related duties as requested and including: scheduling, organizing and facilitating math and literacy data meetings, organizing school data into Excel documents, coordinating district and state assessments
Qualifications
Massachusetts school principal certification required.
Masters Degree required, evidence of educational coursework preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of child growth and development, ages 5-11.
Demonstrated knowledge of current elementary curricula and instructional techniques.
Evidence of a minimum of five years of highly successful elementary teaching experience.
Experience evaluating and coaching teachers strongly preferred.
Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
Demonstrated technological, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of current elementary curricula (Readers Workshop, Writers Workshop, Math In Focus, Fountas and Pinnell Classroom, Foss Science) and instructional techniques.
Demonstrate a knowledge of Social Emotional Learning
Competency working with Excel and Google Docs
