Job Overview:
Optometric Technician assists the Optometrist with the vision correction of patients. The Optometric Technician will help with eye examinations, perform clerical duties, maintain, and clean the examination equipment. To be a successful Optometric Technician, you should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should be detail oriented, meticulous, and keen with ocular equipment.
Duties:
- Assisting with patient care and eye examinations.
- Taking complete ocular history and medical history
- Educating patients on the purpose of all tests being performed
- Handling clerical duties.
- Maintain flow of the clinic in a timely manner
- Ensuring daily cleaning of rooms along with inventory with necessary supplies
- Provide contact lens education to patients.
- Helps optometrist with the care of patients and acts as a clinical assistant.
- Must comply with HIPPA requirements.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Optometric Certification (Preferred not required)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.
