Overview
South Florida Premier Surgery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate medical assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring a high standard of patient care. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Perform basic life support measures as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for insurance purposes.
- Provide medical administrative support, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Assist in emergency medicine situations as required, particularly in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
- Support geriatric patients with their specific healthcare needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to assist in various medical procedures.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential for effective patient care.
- Experience or training in emergency medicine is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Familiarity with internal medicine practices is advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical coding is a plus.
- Previous experience working with geriatric patients is beneficial.
- Strong patient service skills to ensure a positive experience for all patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism.
- Clear communication with patients and colleagues.

Pay: $18.58 - $19.40 per hour
