Full-time, 12-month position. As a member of the Student Services team, the Dual Enrollment Advisor will advise prospective and currently dual-enrolled students concerning the various courses and programs offered by the College.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contributes to holistic student advising in support of the College's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
- Exhibits good communication skills and cooperation with all College staff as a participating member of the Student Services team.
- Articulates the College programs to the public schools, students, parents, and community.
- Provides advising services for dual enrollment students and their parents.
- Provides advising services to a diverse student body in career selection, educational program selection, course selection, and personal educational planning.
- Prepares academically ready students' for transfer to senior colleges and universities, by ensuring students have met all academic requirements.
- Advises students in preparation for enrollment including development of an educational plan.
- Provides an interpretation of placement test scores for students and recommends appropriate educational programs.
- Participates in efforts with student orientations, classroom presentations and outreach activities to include spending a sufficient amount of time at all high schools within the college's service area.
- Participates in professional development activities to maintain currency of knowledge and ensure the skill sets required for effective advising are continuously being met.
- Works with college administration in the monitoring and updates to the college's dual enrollment agreements with the SFSC service district.
- Provides college administration with guidance and recommendations on district-wide dual enrollment policies and procedures.
- Assists in evening staffing of office.
- Makes progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of the Accountability Plan and Equity Update Report.
- Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Acts as a Campus Security Authority (CSA)/responsible person for Title IX and Clery Act compliance. Must participate in all required CSA/responsible person training.
- Acts in accordance with local, state, and federal laws/regulations as well as College policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Educational: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution required. Master's degree preferred.
Experiential: Student advising experience within a college setting preferred. Knowledge of advising at-risk or disadvantaged students preferred.
