What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Dietary Manager position at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community?
Responsibilities:
The Dietary Department is an integral part of our commitment to provide
the highest quality of care to our residents. The Dietary Manager is
responsible for managing and coordinating all activities of the Dietary
Department, which includes providing nutritional and attractive meals for our
residents, maintaining an organized sanitary environment, monitoring supply
inventories and purchasing of food and supplies as required, ensuring proper
storage of food and supplies, and managing an effective food service staff.
This position must ensure compliance with all Federal and State Laws
rules/regulations of licensing agencies and with Atrium standards for the
quality of resident care.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate for the Dietary Manager position will have at
least an Associate’s Degree in a food services related field and certification
as a Dietary Manager is required. The formal culinary education of a
certified chef is a definite plus. ServSafe Certification is required and
must be current. This candidate will have a minimum of two years of food
service experience, with at least one year in a management/supervisory
role, preferably in a long term care environment. Experience operating
within an operating budget is essential, as well as a strong managerial
background. Experience in a clinical setting is a plus.
