Job Description:
The EL Teacher will be responsible for providing comprehensive language instruction and support to English Language Learners, enabling them to achieve academic success and develop proficiency in English. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Developing and implementing differentiated lesson plans aligned with state and district curriculum standards.
- Providing direct instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Assessing student progress and using data to inform instruction.
- Collaborating with general education teachers to ensure ELL student success in mainstream classrooms.
- Providing culturally responsive instruction and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records.
- Participating in professional development opportunities.
- Advocating for the needs of ELL students.
All certificated jobs will be posted for at least one week. Depending on the size of the applicant pool, postings may be extended beyond a week. Building principals may start scheduling interviews before the posting end date, but no jobs will be offered until a job has been posted for one week.
