Job Description

South Hills Golf & Country Club is a private member-owned club located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Members enjoy the use of an eighteen-hole golf course and swimming pool facilities, as well as bar, restaurant, and banquet facilities. We are proud to support the recreational, dining, business meeting, and banquet needs of our member families as well as many businesses in our community. Although member-owned, we allow non-member banquets on site.

South Hills Golf & Country Club is looking to hire an Events Manager to maintain event sales and bookings, plan, execute, and evaluate all event activities at The Club including member events and banquets. This individual will also assist with marketing efforts for events to include social media posts, flyer creation, and website updates.

We are looking for an organized, energetic events professional to help us meet the growing demand of our internal and external banquets such as weddings, golf outings, member events, business meetings, nonprofit fundraisers, and more. The right individual for this position is a strong communicator with a positive attitude who enjoys meeting new people, building memorable experiences and relationships, and possesses a strong level of creativity.

Responsibilities

The core functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

Sales-

  • Update availability calendars and maintain all sales platforms
  • Promptly respond to inquiries for events, coordinate and execute tours, contracts, and bookings
  • Work to grow banquet business in food and beverage sales, bookings, and overall business development to meet annual sales budget
  • Finalize all bookings appropriately in designated spaces and internal calendars
  • Actively engage in local community to consistency execute business development opportunities

Banquet Coordinating-

  • Arrange planning meetings, tastings, and final walkthrough’s
  • Organize events details, create BEOS, and finalize invoices
  • Collaborate with culinary team and clubhouse manager on menu options based on pricing and cost controls
  • Coordinate internal logistics with the head server such as set up, tear down, layouts, and linen orders
  • Verify all final details for events with hosts to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate biweekly event details with management staff
  • Update and adjust annual pace report with event revenue estimations and final costs
  • Work banquets to coordinate day of details and make sure events run smoothly
  • Create marketing materials and social media content to promote new banquet business
  • Coordinate membership notifications for large events and adjusted dining hours due to banquets

Member Event Coordinating

  • Plan annual social calendar of events for membership with support from management
  • Coordinate event details including timeline, food, decor, and entertainment
  • Verify pricing buttons and charges are in the system and accurate
  • Exercise creativity to bring fun changes and new ideas into social member calendar
  • Coordinate marketing collateral and member notifications regarding upcoming events to increase attendance
  • Work to grow participation in events to support sales budgets and utilization

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred but not required
  • Background in events planning and/or coordinating
  • Strong acumen in sales tactics
  • Understanding of KPI's and capturing indicators to maintain and improve performance
  • Strong computer skills and communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization strengths
  • Ability to work independently

Requirements

  • Nights and Weekend availability to work events
  • Flexible scheduling

Compensation

Salary is commensurate on experience with additional sales gratuity for each banquet paid out bi-weekly

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
