Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Front Desk Manager or other manager in the agency, the Clinical Support Clerk is responsible for all front desk and medical records operations and for performing customer services and administrative tasks to support the delivery of clinical services. The following duties include:
Displays appropriate customer service related skills and presents with a pleasant and courteous demeanor while assisting consumers and visitors. Answers phones appropriately, schedules appointments as needed, forwards incoming calls to the appropriate location, and documents messages as necessary. Enters clinical and other information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other systems as required. Checks-in consumers as they present for services, including but not limited to: gathering and/or verifying demographic and insurance information, data entry of information into the EHR, collecting fees/co-pays, assisting consumer with completion of new intake paperwork, compiling new charts, and pulling charts. Monitoring daily provider schedules to ensure consumers are seen in a timely manner. Provides management of fee collection. Reconciles consumer accounts and performs necessary follow-up activities to resolve outstanding balances. Charge slip reconciliation. Verifies insurance coverage. Confers with direct care staff to ensure complete, current, and accurate medical records.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or completion of a GED is required. A minimum of five (5) years experience in clerical duties, electronic health documents, and administrative tasks is required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
