Civil Engineer

Are you a skilled Civil Engineer looking to contribute to a growing, dynamic community? The City of South Jordan is hiring a Full-Time Civil Engineer to support the design, development, and construction of critical infrastructure projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in capital improvement projects, private development review, and master planning while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do:

✔ Design and oversee capital infrastructure projects under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer
✔ Conduct engineering reviews for private developments to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards
✔ Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates
✔ Perform field inspections and assist with project management from concept to completion
✔ Conduct traffic studies and infrastructure analysis to support transportation and public works initiatives
✔ Develop and maintain master plans for storm drainage, transportation, and water systems
✔ Collaborate with city officials, contractors, and external agencies to ensure successful project execution

Who You Are:

🔹 Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
🔹 At least two years of experience in engineering, public works, or infrastructure development (six years for Senior Engineer applicants)
🔹 Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required (Professional Engineer (PE) license required for Senior Engineer)
🔹 Strong technical skills in CAD, engineering software, and Microsoft Office
🔹 Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
🔹 Able to work both in the office and in the field, conducting site inspections and project evaluations
🔹 Valid Utah Class D Driver's License required
