Are you looking for a hands-on outdoor job where you can make a meaningful impact? The City of South Jordan is hiring a Seasonal Cemetery Maintenance Worker to help maintain and beautify the cemetery grounds while assisting with essential site operations.
Pay Grade: GH10
Location: South Jordan Cemetery
Schedule: Part-time, seasonal (includes weekends as needed)
What You'll Do:
✔ Maintain cemetery grounds by mowing, trimming, edging, and removing debris
✔ Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, tractors, and snow blowers
✔ Assist with grave preparations, including opening and closing sites
✔ Repair and maintain sprinkler systems and landscaping
✔ Educate visitors on cemetery rules and ensure a respectful environment
✔ Perform seasonal duties such as snow removal and holiday preparations
✔ Support general cleaning, facility maintenance, and special events
✔ Ensure safety procedures and proper use of equipment
Who You Are:
18 years or older with a valid Utah Driver's License (preferred)
Prior experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field (preferred)
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physically capable of lifting 40-60 lbs and performing labor-intensive tasks
A responsible and respectful team player with strong attention to detail
Available for weekend burials and on-call rotations as needed
