South Knox School Corporation is looking for a skilled leader to become part of our team as Maintenance Director. The right candidate will oversee and manage all aspects of our campus facilities. This position is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring our buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and the community. The work schedule is year-round, 8 hours per day, and on-call 24/7.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all school facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and custodial services
- Supervise and manage a team of custodial and maintenance staff
- Oversee compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and ADA standards
- Respond to emergency repair needs promptly and efficiently
- Plan and execute facility improvement and renovation projects
Qualifications:
- Proven excellence in facility management, maintenance operations, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and preventative maintenance practices
- Leadership and supervisory experience with a focus on team development
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- HS diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or a degree in facilities management is preferred
