Contract Days: 193 Days
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with school administrators, staff, students, and parents
- A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
- A valid certificate as a guidance counselor or licensed social worker.
- A master's degree, or its equivalent, representing intensive course work in the principles and practice of educational guidance; educational testing and measurement; counseling; the organization and administration of guidance services; and the psychology of learning.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Reports to: Middle School Principal
Job Requirements:
- Provide educational, career, and student assistance services to students at Pendleton Heights Middle School
- Advises and counsels students regarding academic, educational, and behavioral problems
- Remains accessible and makes an effort to know every student for whom they are responsible.
- Provides student planning services to support students and their families regarding academic matters.
- Teaches guidance and career exploration lessons, and provides guidance counseling to students through planned activities in small group or classroom settings and offers workshops/seminars for parents.
- Consults and maintains communication with parents, teachers, administrators, and appropriate agencies on specific student and parent academic and educational matters including academic modifications and/or accommodations.
- Provides feedback and recommends appropriate action and solutions to individual student’s academic and educational needs and abilities.
- Assists students/parents in understanding school policies and procedures.
- Communicates, coordinates, and collaborates with others on developing and implementing student support.
- Supports and attends appropriate student activities and events.
- Serves as Public Agency Representative (PAR) in case conferences as needed
- Provide support to EL (English Learner) students and assist with local and state testing, including WIDA ACCESS.
- Other duties as assigned by the principal
