What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at South Mill Champs Mushrooms?
The Senior Accountant will contribute to the implementation of a world class financial accounting process.
Responsibilites:
- Assist with monthly and yearly closing process of the company and its subsidiaries.
- Participate in preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintains and reconciles various schedules required for closing process.
- Uses analytical skills to solve problems and understand accounting functions.
- Prepares and reconciles general ledger entries to trial balances.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required by Management.
- Oversees and reviews analysis of general ledger accounts to ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounts.
- Assist in preparation of annual financial audit work papers.
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance required.
- Strong technical accounting skill including GAAP, proactive, detail oriented and accountable.
- Minimum five to seven years of experience in accounting required
- Experience in Manufacturing is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proficiency with Excel
- Thorough knowledge of Sage is a plus
