What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Accounting position at South Mill Champs Mushrooms?
The Vice President, Accounting is responsible for managing the global accounting and shared services teams of the North American organization. Supporting the company’s strategic goals, they will be focused on establishing an effective reporting environment, and proactively ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
The VP of Accounting will be responsible for:
- Managing and developing strategies for the global accounting team.
- Creating departmental strategies and objectives, to drive towards establishing a customer-focused, KPI driven team in-line with organizational objectives.
- Monthly and quarterly BOD reporting.
- Providing analysis and recommendations to support financial objectives, growth strategies, and business operations
- Analyzing existing lines of business and potential acquisitions and investments. Present data on trends, opportunities, risks and synergies.
- Developing and maintaining models and forecasts.
- In coordination with the IT department, lead financial operating systems implementation processes.
- In coordination with the Director of Tax, develop strategies to minimize legally required
Qualifications and Education:
- Certified Public Accountant designation- required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance- preferred.
- 10 years of experience in senior management accounting positions, including management of people, processes, and external audits. Agricultural or manufacturing experience- preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, including PPV, consolidations, currency reporting, and cost accounting- required.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities- required.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficient presentation skills - required.
- Strong communications, organizational, technology and leaderships skills- required.
