South Mountain Creamery is a dairy farm family: we bottle our own milk and make our own butter, yogurt, and ice cream. We brought the milkman back in 2001 and have been making home deliveries to the DMV area for over 24 years and counting! Over the years, we have grown to be the largest and most efficient home delivery business in the area. We are currently hiring a Full-time Dock Associate/Relief Driver at our Chambersburg location!
Our Logistics Team is vital to creating the level of high-quality customer service we strive to attain. This position is imperative to the success of our production and delivery teams.
This position reports to the Warehouse Manager and is anticipated to work Monday-Friday, 6 am-2 pm with some flexibility to help on other shifts (i.e., come early or past 2 pm) as requested by management.
This position pays a day rate of $220.00 per day.
Dock duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operate a forklift and or pallet jack
- Move and stage inventory
- Coordinate shuttle between plants
- Tape and build boxes
- Build, break down, or shrink-wrap pallets of ice cream, re-palletize, etc.
- Move pallets and other items with a forklift
- Ensure paperwork is turned over to the appropriate party
- Maintain cleanliness and the organization of the warehouse area
- Other duties as assigned
Relief Driver duties include, but are not limited to:
- Driving established wholesale delivery routes, which may include the DMV area
- Making accurate deliveries
- Complete other delivery tasks as needed
- Assist other departments as needed
The right person has:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- The motivation to work in a team environment -
- A detail-oriented mindset
- A valid driver's license with no major points or accidents is required.
- A current, certified MVR will be needed.
- DOT Medical Card is a plus, however, with the right candidate, we will assist in this process.
Work is performed in refrigerated and otherwise temperature-controlled environments; you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while working safely and efficiently. This position involves regular lifting of roughly 40 lbs from ground level to waist high using proper lifting techniques. Bending and other physical tasks are required.
Basic math, computation, and paperwork completion are required.
