This position can be located on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe working under the direction of the Director of Student Life, Engagement, and Leadership. The Conference and Event Assistant will assist in executing campus events and conferences. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management and hospitality. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of providing excellent customer service to event attendees and internal clients.
Essential Duties Summary
Students must have completed a current year's FAFSA, be eligible for Federal Financial Aid, be enrolled at South Piedmont Community College, be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (GPA of 2.000 or higher, a completion rate of 67% or higher, not exceeding the maximum timeframe of 150%) to apply.

- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging chairs, tables, and other equipment as needed.
- Provide on-site support during events, ensuring that logistical needs are met.
- Greet and direct event attendees, answer questions, and assist with registration.
- Setup equipment such as catering, audio/visual needs, and space reservations.
- Support event marketing efforts by creating and distributing promotional materials.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
