JOB SUMMARY
Business Services Representative are required to continuously establish new links with employers and local businesses, as well as maintain working relationships with established employers and businesses. The primary function of the Business Services representative will be to market services offered by the Workforce Solutions South Plains agency and create job opportunities and job placements for Workforce Solutions South Plains customers and program participants. The Business Service Representative will be responsible for entering and maintaining job orders from employers in the WorkinTexas system. The Business Service Representative will document all contacts with employers as appropriate in the WorkinTexas system.
Preferred experience in data entry, state data systems, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use the Internet and Microsoft Office products. Keyboarding skills are mandatory. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of community resources and case management principles, including: Objectives, standards, and methods. Familiar with structured program policies and procedures. Ability to assess customer needs, provide guidance to other staff, and assist with various case management activities. Ability to accurately calculate income levels. Ability to analyze participants’ documents to determine eligibility. Ability to read and interpret eligibility requirements. Ability to properly administer and score assessment instruments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A four-year college degree with major in Business, Marketing, Business Management, Public Administration, Economics, Communication, or related field preferred.
- Experience interviewing employers to assess and to record information regarding training needs, education needs, employment needs, and labor market trends to fully explore career development opportunities for customers preferred. Experience may be considered for degree on a year for year basis.
- Experience in customer job placement and/or job retention preferred.
