South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual for the Instruction and Classroom Support Technician (ICST) 1 to support the Cybersecurity and Network Administration (CNA) department.
**This is a temporary, nonpermanent position with the possibility of extension.**
Schedule Information:
Flexible.- May include set-up and maintenance before, during, and after Friday, and select Saturday lab days on campus (weekly).

- Assists supervisor/instructor in classroom work, including lectures, labs, office/student hours, and related preparations.
- May provide student assistance and supervision under the direction of a CNA faculty member.
- Works with the CNA team to allow approved, secure remote connections for students to use classroom resources.
- May assist with teaching select laboratory portions of certain courses.
- Receives and catalogues equipment, materials, and supplies used in classes; assists instructors in demonstration of tools, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and materials; and works in coordination with the Applied Technology administrative assistant to place supply orders:
- Modifies equipment, materials, and programs as required for individual instructors and assists students and instructors in selecting the correct tools and materials.
- Communicate with students about classroom outages and system problems.
- Provides technical support to instructors for remote lab setup:
- Prepares materials for use in classrooms, laboratories, or instructional shops; sets up assignments, equipment, or demonstration apparatus for classes; and confers with instructor in establishing and developing assignments.
- Instructs student assistants in the operation and maintenance of relevant CNA equipment.
- Helps with vocational training activities and maintains discipline while instructors give individual attention to students.
- Attends and participates in periodic in-service training programs covering department subject matter, confidence-building techniques, procedures for establishing rapport, and general orientation in college policies and procedures;
- Performs other work as required.
- Familiarity with and ability to troubleshoot connectivity in various operating systems - most commonly Windows OS.
- Knowledge of how to set up and troubleshoot VPN connections.
- Basic understanding of networking devices to support remote connectivity.
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory account management.
- Ability to perform and explain IP addressing and subnetting.

Employment with the college is contingent upon the successful completion of a comprehensive background check. Conditions of Part-Time Employment
Non-permanent employees under the provisions of WAC 357-19-435 are only authorized to work up to a maximum of 1,050 hours in any twelve (12) consecutive-month period from the original date of hire. Employment with the college could end any time.
