The ACH Payments Specialist is responsible for Payment Channel operational functions of back-office processing, which includes ACH and online banking. This role provides a full range of professional, technical, and general support to customers and Bank including, but not limited to technical and general support, assisting customers with security settings and overall product usage; addressing routine inquiries and answering questions, providing step by step technical instruction and support via telephone, e-mail or in person, responding to customer inquiries or complaints and troubleshooting. This role will also be responsible for resolving customer concerns, problems, and discrepancies through a variety of means including reconciling accounts, entering corrections, and reversing customer fees or charges with the concurrence of Bank management.
This position is in a fast-paced environment with several processing time frames, compliance regulations, and daily deadlines. This role requires the ability to perform and understand numerous operational functions completed within this division. You may also represent Deposit Operations on special projects and/or task force committees as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Fraud Monitoring review of various reports and systems to identify suspicious account activity.
- Monitoring External Transfer set up to identify suspicious activity and confirm customers’ eligibility for service.
- Performs and reviews Debit Card Alerts in Verafin to mitigate fraud and identify fraud trends.
- ACH Federal Reserve Settlement Balancing with FIS reports receiving and origination.
- Review transactions on the ACH OFAC report, according to established procedures and deadlines (critical function related to OFAC compliance).
- Review ACH Stop Suspect Report and Non-Post decisioning for ACH Overdraft Exceptions.
- Perform Daily ATM Settlement function and prepare posting sheet for ATM discrepancies reported by branches.
- Review and Process Death Notifications received through Fedline Web.
- Review and Process Government Reclamations.
- Review prenote customers and provide Contact Center prenote report for correspondence to be mailed to customers.
- Perform ACH Disputes and mail ACH stop payments when received.
- Complete the proof of assigned general ledger accounts according to deadlines; research and resolve outstanding items.
- Assist with Deposit Operations Record Retention schedule. This includes monitoring retention, storage locations, destruction, and creating documentation according to requirements.
- Testing of application changes. This role will include the testing of products and service changes, including special projects and implementation tasks.
- Assess and provide feedback on automation and streamlining opportunities throughout the division.
- Provide a full range of customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Acts as a backup to all other teams as needed. Actively ensures they are cross trained in the functions of the division.
- Adhere to the Bank’s privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree or 3 years of relevant banking experience.
- Proven customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
- Familiar with FIS Contact Center SRM and CMSE.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability and desire to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
- Knowledge of general banking regulations.
- Preferred experience and understanding of ACH Rules and Regulations. AAP Accreditation preferred.
