The YMCA is seeking an engaging, enthusiastic, and nurturing group leader to provide a safe and enriching environment for school-aged children to learn, grow, and explore. As a group leader, you will aid in the overall operation of high-quality early learning by promoting YMCA core values and encouraging lifelong learning.
We are willing to train new group leaders and gain experience alongside our highly trained teachers and staff.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, you may occasionally need to climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with your hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear, and have visual acuity. Activities that may be required as part of the job include climbing, running, swimming, and other outdoor activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement activities (e.g., games, arts and crafts, storytelling) and overall engagement with the children.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the students and maintain a clean and developmentally appropriate environment.
- Foster positive relationships with children and their families through effective communication and collaboration.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development by encouraging positive relationships and participation in developmentally appropriate activities.
- Observe and document children's progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to the Site Coordinator or childcare management.
- Assist in providing reasonable accommodations to allow children with disabilities to participate in activities.
Qualifications:
- You must meet EEC Out of School Time requirements: minimum of 9 months' experience working with school-age children without a high school diploma, 6 months' experience working with school-age children with a high school diploma, or at least 3 months' experience working with school-age children with a BA degree. You must be at least 18 years old.
- Knowledge and experience with EEC regulations.
- The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, children & families, and volunteers.
- You must meet EEC Educator Professional Development requirements; PQ Registry to reflect all trainings. CPR and 1st Aid required and provided by the Y, Child Protection & Reporting and Employee Safety online trainings upon hire.
- You must be able to pass and maintain EEC CORI/SORI background checks.
