Job Overview
A minimum of 3 years experience required. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and ensure the highest level of care for our animal patients. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks that contribute to the health and well-being of pets, while also assisting in the daily operations of our veterinary clinic.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide care for animals in the kennel, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using veterinary terminology.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and grooming techniques.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
- Support pet grooming services as needed to maintain hygiene standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including equipment sterilization.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: a minimum of three years is preferred
- Strong background in animal care, with hands-on experience in a veterinary or kennel setting.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal health.
- Experience in laboratory work related to veterinary medicine is a plus.
- Proficiency in handling various breeds of dogs and other animals safely.
- Previous experience with pet grooming is advantageous but not required.
