SUMMARY:
This position requires the incumbent to perform all key job functions of a seasoned Course Scheduler. The position requests in-depth and detailed knowledge of day-to-day Course Scheduling Tasks. This person is a self-starter and motivated in this position. Due to peak volume times the incumbent may be required to work overtime as well as evenings and weekend hours. All work is done within the rules and guidelines of the rights and Privacy Act and the policies of the school. KEY JOB ELEMENTS:
Perform the duties and responsibilities that complement the mission and vision of the University.
Meet all key job elements of the Course Scheduler position including, building and maintaining course schedules in the Student Information System for New, Continuing and Returning students, respond to advising and curriculum development questions and requests regarding course development, implement new program and/or program changes into the course schedules, rebalance courses to optimize student/instructor ratio, monitoring unsuccessful course attempts and adjusting schedules proactively
Course Scheduler must also work alongside Faculty Scheduling, Academic Counseling, Directors of Online Instruction, and Curriculum Development to determine upcoming session needs, ensure that courses are available as they clear new course development and quality assurance.
Follow up on missing admissions decision documents and monitoring student resolutions submitted due to scheduling conflicts
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree required preferred; high school diploma or GED required
1-3 years of related experience; experience in retail, data entry, customer service, administration, or closely related fields.
Experience in data and records management.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills with student and staff populations.
Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.
Strong computer skills. MS Office Suite.
