Position Overview:
The Permit Coordinator is an individual contributor role responsible for managing the permitting process for our HVAC, electrical, and plumbing projects. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role involves working cross-functionally with dispatchers and business unit managers to ensure timely and accurate acquisition of permits. The Permit Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting operational efficiency and compliance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with dispatchers and business unit managers to schedule and file permits for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing projects.
- Prepare and submit permit applications to local city municipalities, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Track the status of permit applications and follow up with municipal authorities to expedite approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of permit requests, approvals, expirations, and renewals.
- Communicate with project managers, technicians, and other stakeholders to provide updates on permit statuses and resolve any issues.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal processes and documentation related to permit management.
- Stay informed about changes in local building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations that may impact permitting.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with municipal authorities, inspectors, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support to the operations team as needed.
- Previous experience in a permit coordination or administrative role, preferably in the HVAC, electrical, or plumbing industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple permit applications simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in permit applications and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with CRM or project management software.
- Knowledge of local building codes, zoning laws, and permitting processes is a plus.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing project needs and regulations.
Salary : $25
